#149 - Agave Planter

The wide-mouth form tapers toward the base and sits on small raised feet for airflow and drainage. The surface is covered in truncated cubes that interlock across the body in a continuous repeating pattern, giving the glaze sharp edges to break across and deep facets to pool in.

Every Hammerly Ceramics piece is made by Curt and his team in his home studio near Denver, Colorado. Each design begins in 3D modeling software, is printed as a physical prototype, and used to create a custom plaster mold system. The HC logo is cast into the bottom of every planter. The cast pieces are then hand-cleaned, fired, glazed, and fired a final time in a computer-controlled gas kiln where the glazes come alive. 

The result is high-fired, glazed porcelain: strong, non-porous, and built to last.
